Since starting Yamato Magazine, one of the most rewarding aspects has been interacting with like-minded people. Blogging is an amazing way of connecting with others from all over the world. The interest in Japanese culture only seems to be growing. That’s why Yamato Magazine is open to collaborating with other writers who are passionate about Japan. Want to build your writing portfolio or have a niche Japanese topic to talk about? You’ve come to the right place!
What is Yamato Magazine interested in?
The kind of articles that I’m interested in publishing span the entirety of Japanese culture. Whether you want to shout about a Japanese restaurant in your local area, or write about Japanese mythology, the door is wide open. Here are other topics that are accepted:
- Japanese concepts and how they relate to mental health
- Japanese movie reviews
- Sake reviews and bars to hang out in
- Tips on studying Japanese
- Original haikus
- Anime reviews
- Japan related book reviews
Have an idea but unsure about whether it’s acceptable or not? Get in touch and let’s see if we can do something with it.
Are there any submission guidelines?
To submit an article to Yamato Magazine, all you have to do is pitch the idea via email and the angle that you’d like to take with it. I’d prefer the content to be at least 300 words and well-researched. You’re free to provide your own pictures and bio to accompany the article.
At the end of the day, I’m interested in helping to promote the work of other writers. It should be a collaborative effort that helps us to build our audiences together. The best kind of articles for me are the ones where I can learn something new and have my perspective about a specific topic challenged.
