A young man glared at his reflection in the mirror. The reflection, half-obscured by a mane of thick black hair, glared back. The young man swept his hair out of his face, determined to face himself. Through distorted vision, he saw a boy with a bulging eye, a boy who was jeered, ridiculed, looked down upon as an abomination even by his own mother.
